Frequently Asked Questions
What is up with wait times?
As much as we'd like to be Amazon Prime and get everyone their controller within a few days it just isn't feasible with a custom business.
Ideally we want to be under a 5 week wait time for all orders and believe it is doable at most times. Some parts of the year are busier than others and sets back wait times.
You are ordering a custom product which is built to order and often has a line of other custom orders in front of it. If you want something fast I would recommend checking out our pre-built sections as those are already built and need minor work before shipping.
We do have plans to offer several styles of prebuilt controllers that can be delivered within a few days. If a custom company has no wait time it would mean it is failing as there wouldn't be enough work to keep employees around and enough money to keep paying them.
Why choose Demon Workshop?
Obviously we would be biased on this question but with our constant growth without advertising it is a direct sign that people are happy with our quality and service.
Our main goals are reliable mods, great customer service, and to offer truly custom controllers you cannot get elsewhere.
Most companies use pre-made kits from China that are cheap and poor quality/feel. We only use custom designed ribbons and designed all done by us where a lot of them are made in house. This is main thing that sets us apart from others.
We are a very small team but have been expanding year after year and have held our standards throughout.
We are an owner operated business which means Logan is still very hands on with every aspect of the business to ensure quality at every step.
When we started this journey in early 2020 it started as Logan building controllers for himself to play competitively on as he was not happy with others he had purchased.
From failing rear buttons, unsatisfying "mouse click' options others advertised, to just poor customer service we new we could do better.
Within our first 2 years in business we revolutionized the modded controller scene with releasing the demon switch rear buttons. While others have been in business over 10 years at this time and still only offering tactical rear buttons which fail early, it was one of our first plans of attack. The demon switch not only is faster and more responsive but also offers over 30x the lifespan. We were also one of the first companies to offer Hall Effects and then onto TMRs as stick drift was one of the biggest repair send ins we were receiving from other companies. We are always trying to push the boundaries of the mods and constantly revise mods to improve them time and time again.
The more we grow, the more we will be able to invest into ourselves to add more options and equipment to our arsenal.
We are thankful for each and everyone of you that choose us for your controller needs!
Will my TMRs have stick drift?
Short answer is no.
Long answer is you will still see slight movement if you're on a very low deadzone as TMRs are still a raw reading stick and will have a centering tolerance of about 3%. No stick module has a 100% success rate of recentering to 0.0000 every movement. The Chinese controllers that advertise this are using built in deadzones and software assistance which will not be good for comp gameplay.
TMRs will not develop the unplayable drift and will be able to be used at a low deadzone for a long time. You would have to physically break the housing or L3/R3 switch to require replacement.
As with everything in this world they are wear items. If you game everyday for 8+ hours a day you are going to require new controller or repairs more often than others,
Why are some controllers so expensive?
Cost is directly reflected by the controller base and mods selected. Some controllers can be barely over $100 USD while some can be $600+.
How do you come up with a $600 controller you ask? Well if you start with a DualSense Edge which has a high base price of over $200, then you want a full color swap, added inputs, mouse click face buttons, mouse click bumpers/triggers, etc etc you can see where it can add up.
There are a ton of factors to controllers as well as a business. Most people do not think of overhead cost.
The sweet spot would be around the $200 range for the best bang for your buck. A controller with rear buttons, demon bumpers/triggers, and TMRs will run in this range (excluding Edge).
How do I order different colors or grips?
If you would like a different color combo or to add a grip to a controller etc, we ask that you contact us and we can send you a custom order link with any options you'd like.
We have a live view customizer in the works but it is still a few months out to be at our standards.
How do I become a Partner or Affiliate?
We offer several levels of partnership and affiliate positions which come with several benefits decided per person.
As much as we'd like to work with everyone we are very picky on who we work with and only want to work with people who truly enjoy the controllers and want to support the brand. We are not fans of a ton of paid promotion as it always seems cheesy and we want genuine references.
