Demon Switch Rear Buttons
Demon Workshop is the first to offer true mouse-click style rear buttons known as Demon Switches. Demon Switches were designed and made in house and perfected through a multi-month project of trial and error. Not only are these easier and more satisfying to press, they are more responsive and have a lifespan of ~10 million presses (which is 33x the lifespan of tactile rear buttons). I've had nothing but great reviews on these and have seen many PRs broken using Demon Switches.
These are by far our most popular rear button option.
This is a 3 piece design which allows for clicking from multiple angles instead of only from a straight on angle.
Available for
- PS4
- PS5
- Edge
- Xbox
These can be selected on new builds or can be added to sent in controllers.
Tactile Rear Buttons
Tactical rear buttons are the standard rear buttons many controller companies use, such as Scuf (buttons under paddles), BattleBeaver, Cinch, etc. These are tried and tested and are familiar. Lifespan is around 300,000 clicks before you can experience inconsistent inputs or they stop working altogether. Tactical rear buttons can be installed on a new controller, or you can send in an existing controller to have your back buttons replaced.

Demon Bumpers/Triggers
Demon bumpers and triggers change the press of a stock bumper or trigger into a satisfying mouse click press. This is a big benefit in FPS games as well as others. The response time is faster and allows you to fire more shots in less time. This mod is not recommended for racing games, as it will convert the bumper or trigger into an on/off switch.
Selecting this option will remove any haptic feedback from the triggers.
Lifespan ~10 million clicks

- PS4

- Edge
- Xbox (Triggers Only)
Demon Face/Dpad
Demon face/dpad buttons, just like the Demon bumpers/triggers, turn stock face buttons and D-pad into a satisfying mouse click press. Very snappy and a claw player's favorite.
Unlike others, ours is not a cheap premade kit utilizing the stock face buttons and mechanical buttons.
Ours uses a custom designed ribbon and true mouse click switches for the most satisfying and responsive presses.
Currently only available in black, other colors to come.
Switch rating ~10 million clicks

TMR Modules
TMR modules are the newest craze in the gaming industry as they solve a long term problem of stick drift. This is done by removing the standard metal contact and carbon track and replacing them with a sensor and magnet to track positions instead.
TMR modules have the same tension as stock stick modules (~70g/f).
Stick drift is caused when the metal contactor rubs the carbon material away resulting in deadspots. This can cause severe drift or for the stick to act very sporadic.
If you play on a 0 deadzone, you will likely still see slight movement as TMR modules are still raw reading sticks. There is a centering tolerance of around 3% (3 deadzone in game) due to sticks relying on a spring and plastic to recenter to 0.0000 everytime. It is just not realistic.

Stick Tensioning
Stick tension allows you to customize the force required to move the thumbstick. Available in lower or higher tensions.
Changing tension directly affects the force required to click L3/R3 depending on which stick you tension. Lowering tension will make it easier, increasing will make it harder.
Lower tensions are popular on the left stick for easier movement while some like to increase their right stick tension to improve aiming accuracy.
Using a taller thumbstick lowers the force required to move your stick as you are adding more leverage.
Adjusting tension to a very high tension (normally +50% and higher) can increase the centering tolerance to around 5% as you are making it harder for the stick to recenter.
Options are
-40% ~40g/f
-25% ~52g/f
+33% ~95g/f
+50% ~112g/f
+66% ~125g/f
+100% ~150g/f
Stock Modules and TMRs are ~70g/f. All options have tolerances of about 10%.

Remap Chip
Remap chips are available anytime you add rear buttons to a controller. This allows you to change what buttons the rear buttons mimic.
Say you normally run your buttons as X|O but want to play another game where a different mapping would help you better. The remap chip allows you to change them to any combination on the controller.
Remap instructions are listed in the header or drop down menu if you're on mobile.

- PS4
- PS5
- Edge
- Xbox
Button Mapping
If you order a controller with rear buttons (either tactical or Demon Switches), you will need to indicate what stock button you would like your rear button to mimic. When choosing your button mapping, think of it as if you're holding the controller while playing. Left hand presses left buttons, right hand presses right buttons (NOT as if you're looking at it from the back, that will result in a backwards mapping).
Buttons available for mapping:
-X (A)
-O (B)
-Triangle (Y)
-Square (X)
-D-pad UP
-D-pad Down
-D-pad Left
-D-pad Right
-L1 (LB)
-R1 (RB)
-L2 (LT)
-R2 (RT)
-L3 (LS)
-R3 (RS)
USB-C Conversion (PS4)
You can opt to convert the micro USB port that comes standard on PS4 controllers to a USB-C port.
There is not a performance gain but converting to USB-C will allow the use of USB 3.0 cables or faster for a more stable speed connection.
The main benefit is longevity and less likely chance of random disconnects. The Micro port is a common fail point on PS4 controllers.
Available for PS4 only.
Rumble Removal
Rumbles are the motors in any controller that give off vibration during gameplay. These are commonly removed to lessen the weight of the controller since most players don't use them.
Rumbles will automatically be removed if demon switch rear buttons are selected or if any other placements besides 1 or 2 with tactical buttons are selected. This is due to space constraints.
